Gantt chart

A Gantt chart is a bar view that places a project’s tasks along a timeline. Each bar represents one task; its length shows the duration, its position the planned period. At a glance you can read what happens when and what runs in parallel.

Structure

The list of tasks sits on the left, the timeline in days, weeks or months across the top. Links between bars show dependencies – which task must finish before the next can start.

Purpose in construction scheduling

  • The planned construction sequence becomes clear to everyone involved.
  • A delay in one task shows its effect on the following deadlines.
  • The plan can be exported as a print-ready document for the client and the site.

In Menira a Gantt chart is built visually by drag and drop. Dependencies and the critical path stay readable at all times.
